Positive feedback isn’t nonsense or fluff, it’s effing oxygen.

I love positive feedback. I love giving it more than anything else in my role. Of course I love receiving it too. Rolling around in it like a golden retriever in freshly folded laundry…

And yet…
I’ve worked in places where compliments were handed out like rare coins.
“Don’t want to give them a big head.”
“Good work is just expected.”

Y’all. Come on.

People are not quitting because of too many thank-yous. They’re quitting because they feel invisible.

So sprinkle that fairy dust. Generously.
Make it weird. Make it loud. Make it often.

Make someone’s entire week with one sentence.

And if you’re worried about giving too much?

Don’t be. I’ve never met a single person in life who stopped working hard or quit a job because they felt too appreciated.

Not a single one.
