Why do job searching and the hiring process generally make you feel like absolute garbage?
Why do job searching and the hiring process generally make you feel like absolute garbage?
Pretty much every day someone (or more than one) shows up to my coaching sessions feeling wrecked. Ghosted by recruiters. Rejected without so much as a “thanks for applying.” Demoralized and doubting every incredible thing they’ve accomplished.
Let me be clear: YOU ARE NOT THE F-ING PROBLEM.
The system and market have evolved to make you feel that way, maybe not purposely, but that is where we are.
Here is what you can control:
Building a career narrative so strong it could convince anyone you are the . (Yes, you’re that good.)
Getting clear on your goals, because “I’ll take anything” isn’t a vibe we’re doing anymore and frankly it doesn't work anyway.
Activating your network without feeling like you’re begging your cousin’s coworker’s dog groomer for a referral. People want to help you, you just have to tell them how!
Ultimately, the job search doesn’t define you, and it sure as hell doesn’t get to decide how you feel about yourself.
DM me. Pop in for a free session. Talk to a friend. Let’s dust you off, hype you up, and show this process who’s boss.
And hey, if you need someone to yell at you (lovingly, enthusiastically) about how awesome you are, I am 100% that person.
